This education government loans category is open to all US citizens, permanent residents, and nationals. However, there are some prerequisites for applying this job. In order to qualify for this educational loan repayment program, the applicants are required to have doctoral or equivalent degrees, such as MD, D.O, D.V.S, D.D.S, B.S.N, D.M.D, and D.P.M. Those scientists who work as Physician Assistant can also apply for this loan repayment program. The applicants must also have a permanent or temporary job in NIH Intramural Research Program for at least three years. It is important that the Applicants should not have any existing service obligations to State Government, Federal Government, or any other establishments.

The NIH will pay the money straight to the money lender from whom the student has taken the loan. It is also stipulated that the qualified educational debt of the scientists must surpass the 20 percent of their yearly earnings. The half of this amount has to be paid by the candidates, as the NIH will not pay it. Under this education loans category, the eligible candidates will get support for a period of 3 years. Those persons whose educational debt will not be completely paid off by that time can apply for a continuation of contract.
